SLUUPA
SLU Urban Planning Association (SLUUPA)
Initially formed in 2007, SLUUPA is an organization for Saint Louis University students interested in urban planning and urban affairs. Our membership is primarily composed of graduate and undergraduate students in the Public Policy Department, but we also have representatives from the School of Law and School of Business. Currently, we hold monthly meetings that feature a variety of guest speakers. In the near future we hope to expand our activities to include community service and social events. Some of the main goals of the group include:
- Promoting and sponsoring educational events to further members’ knowledge of urban planning and urban issues
- Promoting and sponsoring social events to encourage unity and cohesiveness within the student body
- Encouraging attendance at professional conferences and workshops
- Acting as a forum for exchange of ideas and information
- Helping raise awareness of urban issues in the St. Louis metropolitan area
- Providing opportunities for community service
