HOPE NOW St. Louis – Seeking Volunteers

Posted in General on October 1st, 2009 by PSamuels – Comments Off

Greetings,

NeighborWorks® America and the HOPE NOW Alliance are conducting a series of Foreclosure Prevention Workshops across the country. These events are designed to help bring together homeowners in financial distress for a face-to-face meeting with a representative from their mortgage lender and/or local housing counselor.

In partnership with the Making Home Affordable program and the Metro St Louis Foreclosure Intervention Task Force, we hope that you will participate in our next workshop planned for St Louis on Wednesday, November 4, 2009, from 2:00 – 8:00 pm at the America’s Center, 701 Convention Plaza, Suite 300, St. Louis, MO.

We are hopeful that you will volunteer or provide volunteers from your agency to help us with registration, exit surveys, directional guidance and additional assistance that helps make the day run smoothly for the homeowner. It typically involves the investment of at least 8 hours; volunteers are asked to arrive approximately 1½ hours prior to the public start time for an orientation and often to be in place for a soft-opening 45 minutes before the public start time.

We are expecting approximately 15 – 20 mortgage lender companies and approximately 1,500 homeowners to attend. We are looking for at least 25 volunteers.

Attached for further information is an FAQ for Volunteers.  This document will help to answer general questions about the event and explain some of the volunteer roles.

Please contact Sheila Squier ASAP at ssquier@twcny.rr.com if you have ANY questions or would like to RSVP your participation.  In your RSVP, please note the following:  Agency Name (if applicable), Volunteer Name(s), Contact Email and Phone Number and Languages Spoken. Once we receive the names of volunteers, we will send a confirmation email and further details about the event.

Please feel free to circulate this email to other potential volunteers. If you can refer me to any other organizations or groups that are a good resource for volunteer recruitment, please provide contact information and I will follow-up.

Thank you in advance for any support you can provide.  We look forward to working with you!
