Volunteering Opportunity for Jefferson County Regional Medical Center

Jefferson Regional Medical Center (JRMC) in Festus is recruiting volunteers for its Sexual Assault Response Team (SART ).  JRMC’s SART volunteers respond to the emergency room at JRMC when a victim/survivor of sexual assault arrives to provide them with emotional support and information about area resources.

Potential volunteers need to be at least 18 years old, anticipate being comfortable meeting with victims/survivors of sexual assault, and be willing to undergo 40 hrs of training. Our next training will begin on Thurs. 2/25. It will take place at JRMC in Festus and run from 6pm-9:30pm every Thurs. thereafter until 5/6. Training is free of cost.   However, there will not be gas reimbursement for attending training or responding to the hospital.  Please note that this is strictly a volunteer initiative. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer internships at this time.

Interested volunteers and questions about the programs can be directed to any of the below SART program coordinators.

Sincerely,
