Turkeypalooza 2009- Donations needed
The Campus Kitchen at Saint Louis University is proud to announce Turkeypalooza 2009. This Thanksgiving season, the Campus Kitchen will be providing complete holiday meals to all of our regular clients and to their families. Campus Kitchen clients are all elderly, low-income, or disabled individuals that live around St. Louis, many of them within walking distance of campus. It’s a big undertaking to feed 300 people and their families and we need your help.
The Campus Kitchen needs approximately 40 additional turkeys for our meals this Thanksgiving. We are asking interested Student Groups to collect food such as turkeys and other grocery items (see attached list) to the kitchen on Thursday Nov 19th from 4-6 or Friday November 20th from 9-5. You can bring your donations to the Campus Kitchen, located behind Demattias Hall between the hours of 9 and 5:00. Or, you can arrange for a volunteer to pick up your turkeys anywhere on campus on Thursday afternoon or Friday morning. Volunteers will also accept financial donations to purchase turkeys, or other food donations as well. In addition, we still need just a few volunteers to fill the extra food pick up, cooking, and delivery shifts for the holiday. See the CKSLU website for more information on shifts.
If you’d like further information about Turkeypalooza, or you’d like to arrange for a pick-up of your items, please contact the kitchen by email or by phone at 977-3881. Wishing you a very happy holiday season!
