Most planners were excited by the election of Barack Obama and the emphasis that he placed on urban and metropolitan issues. However, since the inauguration, many planners have worried that the administration did not place enough emphasis on planning in the Recovery Act and that the President’s long term metropolitan strategy is still not clear. Come join us as James Heard, the St. Louis HUD Field Office Director, explains the administration’s plans for America’s cities and Sarah Coffin leads a distinguished group of local urbanists in assessing the effectiveness of the administration’s programs to-date and what they hope to see from the Obama administration in the future.
Boxed lunches will be provided by the Saint Louis Bread Company
