ULI Event- The Role of the University in the Region’s Prosperity
Date: November 17, 2009
Time: 4:00 – 6:00pm
Venue: Missouri History Museum
Join ULI as we engage the leadership of four of the region’s universities in responding to Joe Cortright’s presentation on higher education’s role in creating and sustaining thriving communities. Cortright is a noted, sought-after speaker and recognized expert in helping communities capitalize on their strengths and focus on what’s important in driving economic development. Moderated by KMOX’s Charlie Brennan, learn how St. Louis can better leverage these institutions as drivers of real estate and economic development. The conversation will include how the region can better engage human capital, which has often been a problem for St. Louis. How can we retain and attract young professionals and the creative class; how can we benefit from investments made by the universities; how can we help make St. Louis the best place to live? Be with us on November 17 and find out.
Keynote Speaker: Joe Cortright – President and principal economist for Impresa
Local Panel will include: Charlie Brennan (KMOX), Lawrence Biondi (SLU), Thomas F. George (UMSL), Vaughn Vandegrift (SIUE), and Henry S. Webber (Washington University)
All students (with current ID) $5.00
